Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has ordered flags be lowered to half-staff today in honor of Washoe District Judge Robert Perry. Perry died Tuesday at a Reno hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 68.

A public memorial will be held Thursday for University of Nevada, Reno, President Milton Glick.

Glick died of a stroke on Saturday. He was 73.

The service will be held at 4 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center on the UNR campus.

Glick was appointed UNR's 15th president in 2006. A soft-spoken man, his tenure was marked by numerous campus milestones and an increased emphasis on student success while leading the university through a period of unprecedented growth.

Before coming to Reno, he held leadership or faculty positions at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.; Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa; University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.; and Wayne State University in Detroit.
